My preference is for you to contact me by phone. An email will be followed up with a phone call.
In our initial telephone conversation I am happy to take some time to broadly discuss with you your reasons for seeking counselling/psychotherapy at this point, and a bit about your presenting issues. (Some people may not wish to go into this at this point, and rather wait for the initial session, which is also fine.)
Some, at the point of initial contact, might want to discuss my way of working and I welcome the opportunity to outline this – also in order to establish whether I will be the right person to address your presenting issues.
Note that this and all of the other above-mentioned will likely be discussed more extensively at our initial appointment.
The practice is housed in an attractive and discrete suite, centrally located on High Street in Willoughby, surrounded by cafes and shops. There is easy access to buses on a main bus route, while Chatswood train station is a manageable walk away. If you are coming by car you will find ample, unlimited parking in surrounding streets.
In order to facilitate people being able to access psychotherapy even in the case of adverse financial circumstances, I offer, depending on availability, a quota for reduced and/or student rates and some bulk-billing under Medicare’s Better Access Scheme.
You do not need a referral for sessions that are privately funded. If you have been referred to me under a Mental Health Care Plan, typically issued by your GP, please bring this to your initial appointment with me.
Appointments are typically 50 – 60 minutes and will ideally be scheduled at a regular time.
