“The path isn’t a straight line it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths”

Simone adopts an integrative approach to psychotherapy aimed at addressing your presenting problems within the framework of your individual therapy needs and expectations. This involves, amongst other things, a consideration of aspects of your thinking, feeling and behaviour that may be contributing to your difficulties, including current, historical and unconscious influences.

Simone has an interest in complex (relational) trauma, and working with associated issues of self-criticism, shame, anger and addiction, with an emphasis on developing one’s capacity to regulate and manage distressing emotions. In this she draws from a range of modalities, including mindfulness traditions, psychodynamic and cognitive-behaviour therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology.

Simone works from a strong relational foundation, whereby the “here-and-now” relationship in the therapy room is viewed as an integral and powerful vehicle for change, both in terms of its potential for healing wounded attachments and facilitating understanding of oneself in the context of one’s relationships with others.
